My dream to fly across the Indian Ocean and travel to the land down under, amazing Australia came true this year, in the month of September - spring season! When in Australia, I spent a duration of 3 weeks exploring beautiful Melbourne, Victoria and also, travelled to the astonishing Red Centre - Ayers Rock, of Northern Territory, Australia with a dear friend of mine. In Ayers Rock, I marvelled at the wonders of one of Australia's most recognisable natural landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as Ayers Rock a.k.a Uluru. In addition to that, I also explored the natural wonders of Kata Tjuta a.k.a The Olgas, as well as the breathtaking and picturesque Kings Canyon.
Both Uluru and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) are located in the Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park, in the Northern Territory of central Australia. Uluru, along with Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) are sacred sites to the Anangu, the Aboriginal people and traditional inhabitants of the area. Although Uluru is open for tourists to explore and walk around it, certain areas of the rock are not allowed to be photographed or videotaped as a respect to the Anangu people and their culture. Tourists are not encouraged to to climb the rock too, due to safety and nature preservation reasons.
One of the many fun things I did there was to
sleep in a swag under millions of mesmerising
outback stars! I also walked and hiked a lot too; over
valleys, gorges and steep canyons, and admired many
natural geological rock formations that was formed millions of years ago. I even had the chance to see the
fossil of a prehistoric jellyfish on the ground - one of the many evidences that the place was once a vast ocean! Last but not least, I had a taste of
kangaroo, camel, crocodile, emu, buffalo, and barramundi meat! Not forgetting, roasting marshmallows over an
outback bonfire too! All I can say is I really had a lot of fun during my short, but sweetly adventurous stay in
Ayers Rock.

- Light lunch followed by a visit to the Uluru Cultural Centre
- Entrance to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
- 10.6 km Uluru base walk (shorter options are available)
- Spectacular sunset at Uluru
- Hearty dinner and hot shower followed by sleeping in a swag* under millions of outback stars
DAY 3 : Uluru Sunrise, Kata Tjuta and Kings Creek Station
- Healthy breakfast followed by a spectacular sunrise at Uluru
- 5.5 km walk at Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) through the Valley of the Winds (shorter options are available)
- Hearty lunch followed by a scenic drive to Kings Creek Station
- Outback BBQ dinner and hot shower followed by sleeping in a safari tent
DAY 4 : Kings Canyon – Ayers Rock
- Healthy breakfast followed by a scenic drive to Kings Canyon
- 6 km canyon rim walk with spectacular views
- Visit the natural Amphitheatre, North and South Walls, and the exotic Garden of Eden
- Lunch at Kings Creek Station & transfer back to hotel in Ayers Rock @ AAT Kings
- A short visit/view of Mt. Conner, the outback sand dunes and a salt lake
- Outback BBQ buffet dinner
DAY 5 : Free & Easy
- Check-out hotel
